wise people on purpose

"You must know for which harbor you are headed if you are to catch the right wind to take you there." -- Lucius Seneca (4 B.C. -A.D. 65).

I love that this quote poetically captures the futility of wandering through life without a purpose. And while we're talking about quotes from Romans, this reminds me of one of my favorite verses:
"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you which is good and pleasing and perfect." -- Romans 12:2

Feeling so blessed today. . .

Ok, and this is really funny, but SO true and fits the theme today:
"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy." -- George Bernard Shaw
And continuing through time and ending with our present one. (See how much purpose this posting has. Chronological and everything. No anachronisms today folks.)
"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. And it will leave you unfulfilled." -- Barack Obama
